Musical Experience

Ludy is a graduate of the Queensland Conservatorium of Music where he studied Voice and Pianoforte with the late Donald Smith OBE and Regis Danillon respectively. His love for classical music started later in life and was mainly influenced by ‘Thijs van Leer’ (from the Dutch group Focus), James Last & his Orchestra , Pjotr Iljitsj (Peter) Tsjaikovski and Frederick Chopin. 

However, it was his ability to sing and finger pick his guitar while the audiences sang along with Don McClean’s ‘American Pie’, Neil Diamond’s ‘Sweet Caroline’ and ‘John Denver’s Country Roads’ which gave Ludy the opportunity to tour his new adopted homeland Australia.

The recording of his original ‘She is Calling Me  Away From Home’ and the adaption of  the 16th century song ‘Plaisir d’Amour’ are most valuable in demonstrating his achievement  of combining the classical magnificent and majestic with the popular romance and rhythmic.
